Tips and Advice on 2 Month Old Milestones
The First Two Months
During the first couple of weeks it probably seems like all your baby does
is eat, sleep, and poop. This is very true. A babies understanding of the
world is so limited at this time thank he probably thinks of you as an
extension of himself. He is not aware of where he ends and you begin.
He was attached to you for 9 months!
Movements: Does not control and very sporadic.
Emotions: Does not control and very reflexive.
Sight: Can only see between 9 -12 inches clearly.
Somewhere around the second month your baby will flash you that once
in a lifetime first smile that will melt your heart! Yes! The first major
physical milestone! Your baby had probably already smiled at her mobile
or favorite toy, but now she's smiling at you.
But guess what? That smile is also her first social milestone and first
sign of emotional growth. This means that your baby is now picking up
on signs of how relationships work. Your baby now shows that they can
distinguish between their emotions. He/She is aware that they are happy
when they see you and does not have the sad feeling like when you
aren't there. They can also pick up the fact that when they smile...YOU
WILL SMILE BACK.
Just like feeling happy they also can also feel unhappiness. They will cry
or be fussy when you are not around or when they are uncomfortable
and hungry.
