6-9 Month Milestones
Bye Bye Toys, Hello Little Explorer

By this time your baby may or may not be trying to sit up.  Soon they will be
squirming around in circles and across the floor, doing what some call the
"Army Crawl" or "Scootin". Your baby will be learning ALOT at this time.  She
will be concentrating on how things work, dimensions, and properties.

Crawling- An important developmental milestone.  Learning to crawl
changes everything.  Your baby can now use her brain to figure out how big a
room is, and now will be able to follow you around.  Again your baby is using
her brain and learning sequence, seeing how one action will lead to another.
Everyday your baby is growing more and more dependant and committing
all his/her skills to memory.  You should definitely have your home child
proofed by this time, because your baby will still play with toys, but will
defiantly be into anything she can get her hands on to learn what this big
world is really all about.

Sitting-  When your baby sits up for the first time, it changes everything
again.  This will be the first time your baby's hands are free of supporting
themselves and free to explore in a whole new perspective.  You will start to
see your baby studying a toy more.  Moving it from hand to hand and
dropping it just to pick it back up.  Using her brain again to learn cause and
effect.
