Baby Milestones-
Physical, Emotional, Intellectual, and Social
I bet nine out of ten moms that link to this page is looking to see if there child is
developing on target. You might be wondering if your child is rolling over on schedule
or when you should expect them to walk.
I have to admit that I didn't wonder any of that with my first child. He did everything
early. He rolled off the bed at 2 months, could crawl under the crib at 5 months and
was walking out to the car at 9 months. He had a vocabulary of about 15 words when
he was only a year old and could say "My daddy's at work" in sign language. Now he
is 4 going on 12 and I realize I never got a chance to enjoy each of his magic
milestones.
Now I have had my second child and he is the complete opposite. He will be 10
months old soon and has not been crawling long at all. Because of this I have been
able to study and appreciate his developmental mile stones much more. I have also
realized other kinds of development I had never really thought about. Babies don't
just reach physical development but also other important milestones as well. We tend
to forget that our baby is going through intellectual, social, and emotional growth every
day.
Memory for instance is one of the first intellectual milestones that your baby will
reach. So as you view the following pages, keep in mind that all children develop
differently and reach their milestones at different times, this is what makes each baby
so unique!

By this time your baby may or may not be trying to sit up. Soon they will be
squirming around in circles and across the floor, doing what some call the "Army
